Give me odorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers, where I can walk undisturb’d (Walt Whitman)

I read the words that have accompanied my journey, and decided to write them down on the fabric…
Embroidering the lettering, which runs along the four sides of an 80 cm placemat, has changed my routine, which for the past couple of months had involved working with letters: here, it no longer made sense to work by colour, as I would have had to move the frame each time. I took the opportunity to do as much as possible by hand, allowing myself a freer style of embroidery. I kept almost exclusively the satin stitch on the frame. The words are in single-thread stem stitch, and the font is enlarged enough to avoid overly tight curves and is perfect for the continuity of lines, which rarely requires skipping stitches
